Melissa was born in Brazil to a veterinary father and an entrepreneurial mother. Her mother introduced her to business and fashion and by age 12 she was helping her mother with her boutique. At age 15 she was traveling to fashion shows and selecting the collections they would be carrying at her mother's store. After high school she moved to Rio de Janeiro to study Business Administration at Universidade Estacio de Sa. When she was 21 she moved to the United States to work for the Hard Rock Cafe’ Organization where she loved and adopted their values.

Melissa has lived in the United States for over 19 years and now has a beautiful family that inspires and drives her to succeed every day. She has been married to the love of her life Tony for over 13 years and they have two beautiful twins Sofia and Gustavo who have inspired her to create and start Melissas Stitches. 

In her spare time she loves photography, camping, traveling and participating in Equestrian Sports.
